Little Tokyo

October 05, 2010

I always want to try and discover a new thing; that’s why when I read a blog post about on this group of Japanese restaurants somewhere in Makati which they called a “Little Tokyo” I felt so curious about on this place and want to experience their cuisine and Japanese ambiance.

A time passed by I almost forgot about on my planned activity that I want to do. I was on my third week training here in Makati. One afternoon, out of the blue the Little Tokyo popped out in my mind (it seems that I saw it somewhere when I’m going to waltermart Makati, but I am not so sure about it, but my mind tells it.)

So I invite my boyfriend to have a dinner in Little Tokyo, and I explain what have on this place and good thing his willing to try it too.

He followed me here in Makati from Cavite to accompany me going back home. So I followed my mind instinct; we do ride in a jeepney with mantrade/walter mart route. And my mind is right we found the Little Tokyo there beside the Makati Square & almost near in Walter Mart.

We tried the “Hana Restaurant” which is located at the near entrance, and wow I’m so surprised we do enjoy the foods the tastes are great ( yum yum :P ) and I am so glad seeing him (my hubby) so much enjoyed and happy too.

Being first timer, we tried the basic one and look yummy for us.

Camiguin Trip November 05-07, 2010

The Province of Camiguin, an island Born of Fire.

HOW TO GET HERE

From Manila, you can take direct flights of Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, or Air Philippines to Cagayan de Oro City. Flying time approximately takes one hour and 20 minutes. From Cebu, Cagayan de Oro City is even nearer -- a mere 30 minutes away. One can also take the longer but infinitely more exciting ferry trips from the North Harbor aboard the ships of WG&A, Negros Navigation, and Sulpicio Lines. Depending on the routes (sometimes they stop over at certain ports such as that of Cebu City, Iloilo City or Bacolod City), a ferry trip to Cagayan de Oro City usually takes 28 to 36 hours. From the Cagayan de Oro City airport, you can take a cab to the bus terminal located at the Agora Market and get on a bus for Balingoan, a town 88 kilometers outside the city. At Balingoan, take a ferry bound for Camiguin Island approaching Camiguin by sea. The trip usually takes an hour before you reach Benoni Wharf of Mahinog, which is 17 kilometers from the capital town of Mambajao. You can also take a three-hour ferry ride from the Cagayan de Oro Ferry Terminal to Guinsiliban, also in Camiguin on board M/V Yuhum.1 HOUR MANILA – CAGAYAN DE ORO

SUNKEN CEMETERYLocated in Bonbon, Catarman a huge cross marker has been installed by the Provincial government to mark the community cemetery that sunk during the 1871 volcanic holocaust. Years ago, gravestones were visible during low tide. Today, it is an interesting diving site.
RUIN CHURCHThe devastating volcanic eruption in 1871 wiped out the Spanish settlement of Catarman that was established in 1697. The remains of an Old Spanish church, ruins of adobe walls, belfry and convent are mute witnesses to the wrath of nature. It also allows us a glimpse into the culture of Spanish-era Camiguin.
